I look across the street at preschoolers running up and down the driveway and it makes me a little sad. I miss those days. I was recently invited to go speak in Austin at a MOPS event, and got so excited. My kids' preschool years gave me some great stories to share. They don't like me to use them as illustrations much anymore...something about respecting their personal privacy? Idk....
Anyway, I'm having a blast remembering some of those stories I used to tell with regularity, and I'm really looking forward to getting to share with moms of preschoolers. It seemed like every moment back then was a teachable one. Those days when our kids are little are such a treasure! Brandon and Abby are both teenagers now, and they live busy lives. He's a senior, and spends most of his time working at his job, playing basketball, and spending time enjoying/building relationships with friends. She's an 8th grader, taller than me, and so self-motivated to be awesomtastic that I feel like my job with her is easy. It's hard when your kids grow up, but it's fun, too.
This summer has been a blast watching (even if just through pictures) my kids put into practice all those things we've tried to teach them since they were little. Abby has worked at a backyard Bible school at an apartment complex and went to work down by New Braunfels at Quest Ranch for a few days. Brandon has served at Mission Arlington and just got back from a sports evangelism mission trip to Germany where he worked with kids at a baseball camp and helped lead church services
So today, I don't have much to say, but I do want to share some pictures. I'm just so thankful, and overwhelmed by God's goodness and faithfulness. And as I look at these, I'm reminded to keep talking and grabbing those teachable moments when they present themselves, because these years are fun and exciting, too...and so are the ones ahead.

They are evidence of an Awesome God and some great parenting skills working hand in hand!
